Can anyone help me with my problem?:
I need to replace the gearbox mounting rubber on my '97 Felicia 1.3. It's the round rubber mount that sits in the fifth gear cover on the end of the 'box, my local Skoda dealer managed to get me the part, but said that their own manual states that they need a special Skoda tool in order to fit the rubber, but they don't know the name or number of the tool that is needed??. does anyone with experience of working on Felicias know the part number of the skoda tool required please?. My dealers say that If I can find the tool number, they will be happy to obtain one, and fit my mounting, but they have no-one there who has worked on Felicias before.
Alternatively, can I safely remove, and re-fit the fifth gear cover from my gearbox, now that I've taken it out of the car?, as the Haynes manual doesn't cover the gearbox internals in any depth. If I can do this without risk of losing essential spring tension or small parts, then I know a local engineering firm who will attempt to press in the new rubber for me once the casing is separated..
